John A. Cook, age 80, of Chumuckla, FL passed away peacefully at a local hospital on January 17, 2009. John was born on June 15, 1928, the son of Louis and Mattie Sewell Cook. He retired from the State Road Department after 31 years.
Mr. Cook is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary Ellen Burgess Cook; two sons, John Anthony (Vicky) Cook, and Timmy Eugene Cook; daughter, Sharon Cook (Randall) Fleming; grandchildren, Rebecca Cook, Andrea Labrato, Laura Moore, Lindsay Strickling, Wes Fleming, Chance Cook, Kelsen Cook; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Monday, January 19, 2009, at Lewis Funeral Home, Pace Chapel with Rev. LaDon Hall officiating. Burial will follow at Elizabeth Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery with Lewis Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00 PM, Sunday, January 18, 2009 at Lewis Funeral Home, Pace Chapel.
Active pallbearers will be Bobby Simmons, Tom Nichols, Mark Dooley, Joey Cook, Curtis Cook, and Danny Holt.
