1920-2011

Mable H. Campbell, Age 91, of Silverhill, AL, passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at Consulate Health Care of Pensacola, Pensacola, FL. She was born on April 13, 1920 in Oneonta, Alabama to the late Hubert Hendricks and Mamie Hendricks.

Mable H. Campbell was a loving wife, mother and homemaker. She and her late husband Oswald R. Campbell resided in Crestview, Florida for 47 years and were members of the First United Methodist Church. She moved to Silverhill, AL in 2000 and was a member of the Silverhill Evangelical Covenant Church.

Besides her parents and husband, Mable was preceded in death by one sister, Lula Belle Hendricks. Survivors include, two sons and a daughter-in-law, William R. Campbell of Senatobia, MS and Joe O. & Patricia H. Campbell of Silverhill, AL; a grandson, Daniel C. Campbell; a granddaughter, Jennifer A. Campbell, both of Silverhill, AL; brothers, James, Donald, Barnett, John D., and Billy Hendricks all of Jay, FL and sisters, Flora Mae Cole of Dyersburg, TN, Mildred Golden of Jay, FL, and Annie Lord of Milton, FL.

Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. and funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church of Pace in Pace, FL with the Rev. John Webb officiating. Interment will follow at Elizabeth Chapel Cemetery in Chumuckla, FL. Pallbearers will be David Campbell, Samuel Lansdon, Mark Hendricks, Bart Hendricks, Howard Hendricks and Marcus Lord.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the William R. Campbell Special Needs Trust, P. O. Box 22, Silverhill, AL 36576.

National Cremation & Burial Society of Milton has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Cecil Simmons Class of 66


Saturday from Cecil Simmons' wife, Debbra Simmons, and this facebook message from Cecil's son (also named Cecil), 
Dear Mr. Campbell (Jim Campbell) as a classmate of my father's I would like to notify you that he passed away about 7:50 this morning.  I would be grateful if you can pass this on to other classmates.  Thank you.
 
 
Cecil passed away Saturday morning in San Antonio, Texas after a brief illness.  He will probably be buried in San Antonio, but Debbra didn't have any further details available yet.  Debbra is copied (debbrasimmons@aol.com), and maybe she will have a chance to share more details with us later.
 
Our most sincere condolences go out to Cecil's family, which includes Mildred Salter and Polly Spears locally.

Services For David Campbell will be held (to us ole timers) Elizabeth Chapel, for the rest Chumuckla Community Church. Visitation will be from 11:00 am till 12:00 noon Monday 15 2011. Services start at 12:00. Which will by followed by graveside farewell. (From John Van - his nephew).

A lot of people in the Chumuckla area are descended from people on both sides of this battle. It would be fun to go to this and capture video interviews (in period) with re-enactors - for youtube. see FT MIMS website.
