One of Chumuckla's most endearing persons has passed away after a period of illness.  Yes. He was my favorite cousin.

Colbert Campbell

Pace - Colbert W. Campbell, age 84 of Pace, FL, passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2018, after a long life of service to his family, his employer, his country, his church, and his community.

He was born on January 18, 1934, in Chumuckla, FL., to the late Cuyler H. Campbell and Bessie Savelle Campbell. Colbert served in the Air Force and was retired from civil service at Pensacola Naval Air Station. He was a long-time member of Elizabeth Chapel Methodist Church and more recently a faithful attendee at Wallace Baptist Church. He was on the Board of Directors of Chumuckla Water System. He will be lovingly remembered and appreciated for his years of service as caretaker of Elizabeth Chapel Cemetery.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Clayton Campbell, Otto Campbell, Oswald Campbell, Donald Campbell, Winston Campbell and a sister Evelyn Jamison. Surviors include his wife of 63 years Rema Ingram Campbell; his daughter, Sharon Schile (Donnie) and his son Ronnie Campbell (Rosemary); four granddaughters, Christen Campbell, Caitlin Campbell Polhamus (Sam), Rachel Campbell, and Ashley Hendrickson and one grandson Trey Hendrickson; five great grandchildren; brothers, Rufus and Glen, of Chumuckla, FL.; and sisters, Lucille Lee of Robertsdale, AL., and Louise Gregory of Pensacola, FL.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, July 8, 2018; visitation, 2:00 P.M. Wallace Baptist Church in Pace; service at 3:00 P.M.; Burial to follow at Elizabeth Chapel Community Cemetery. Rev. Brother Andy Martin, Officiating;

Pallbearers are David Campbell, Joe Campbell, Keith Campbell, Dale Campbell, Roger Campbell, Ronald Campbell;

Mr. Campbell's niece and nephews will be honorary.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Wallace Baptist Church Building Fund.
